I think that death is only the beginning. Many people have died, but their legacies live on. This legacy may not be widely heard of, but it will definitely be heard of by one's friends and family. Death ends a mortal life, but the soul goes to new places, heaven or hell. The life that one leaves behind will be remembered for the time to come. I like to see death as the inner mind being set free from its mortal prison. This way, death seems more joyful, and the inner mind will have a new "life".
I like how you mention that people's legacies will continue on. Very Good. Interesting that you think life is a prison to you mind.
I think that life is some sort of test. If you are a good person in your life, then you will advance to heavan. If you had a half good and half bad life, did good and bad deeds in your life time, then you would be reincarnated when you die back into some living thing that has a harder life style than you did in your previous life. You would have to redeem yourself in this new life in order to proceed to heavan. However, if you were totally bad in your first life, then you go staight to hell, no redemption. If you are on your second life and you fail at redeeming yourself, down to hell you go.
That's quite an interesting take on death, I'm not sure I've heard a version exactly like that before, but might I add a question? What do the people do once they are in heaven? Could they possibly go to nudge a wayward son back to carry on the correct path? Inception perhaps?
I agree with quinn that that is very interesting. I like the concept of redemption and failures with reincarnations. Makes me kind of wonder where I'll go...
I think it is interesting that they are given another chance even though they committed bad deeds, instead of just going straight to hell or purgatory and suffering.
I think that death is a part of life. We came to life to become someone and do something and when our time comes, we die. I feel like we should live everyday like its our last because we never know when we're gonna die. We should take advantage of the beautiful life that is given to us. Death scares me, but I know once we die, we will be in heaven with our loved ones and we will meet again with them.
I believe death is a gateway to a new beginning/life. Life on earth is only a temporary place for people to finish some unfinished task, correct unjustified actions, or even just to start a new life. Therefore people should not be afraid of death and go with the flow because there is always a new beginning after death.
I really like the idea that there's always a new beginning after death :]
I agree that life is for people to complete an unfinished task, but how do we know what our task is or if we have completed it?
I think thats one of lifes greatest mysteries. I dont think its our place to decide whether or not we have finished our task or what it even is,I feel that the "task" is just something that a person sets for him/herself and it is up to that person to decided for themselves whether or not they have fulfilled that "task"
The topic of death is a big one but it the one less talked about. No one really knows what happens to a person when the person dies. I think when a person dies if the soul of the person could just disappear and never return or it could just go to heaven as a lot of people believe. A persons soul might go into something else and if it does does the new thing the person is, remember that past life? when I think of death I also think about how will I die and if I might have regrets or love the if I had in my life and will i die peacefully.
Death is bittersweet. I think it's difficult to think about leaving someone you love behind, but at the same time it's exciting to be reunited with our old friends and families. It's scary not knowing what's going to happen but it's also comforting to know that there will always be someone on the other side waiting to welcome you.
Awesome point Tansica. It's the fear of the unknown that keeps us all honest in our daily lives, but it's the thought of seeing friends again keeps us happy
I believe that death is the ending of ones life and the beginning of another. When one dies, they leave with their family and friends their mannerisms and ideas as to how they lived their life. It is then those people who continue the life of the dead on Earth by using those mannerisms and ideas everyday in their lives. However, the dead person’s soul goes to either Heaven or Hell and starts a new life based on their past life experiences. It is in this life where they are forever surrounded by their loved ones.
I definitely agree with you, Megan. Death is a start of either a joyful life surrounded by loved ones, or something worse....
I believe that death isn't something to be feared, it's meant to be respected. Life is a gift, and death is a gift as well; it's a way to end our existence in a dignified way. If we were all to live forever, we would only continue to age until our face falls off and our fingers crumble and that would suck... Anyways i think that heaven is what we want it to be, like in some cases, it could be giant rooms of candy or massive ballrooms filled with music. As for the other place, (HE double hockey stick), it'll suck. So don't be bad…
I agree with you, John. They both are gifts, and you don't fear life, so you shouldn't fear death either.
I hope I don't offend anyone, but I believe that death is purely the end of all cognitive thought. So death is the end, but you're given so much time in your life to do all the things that you want to do. I think we should let death come as it is, and to not be fixated on it as a point.
I think that death is the end of your mortal life. After death, it is eternal loneliness and your spirit stays on earth with no contact with other spirits and you just wander (like those horror films).
I think that our life is just something were lucky enough to have, its just something we should prize and see what we can achieve in our lifetime. After your life is over, I believe that we would probably just sleep and wake up as another different kid?
View of death? For my self I believe that death is the new chapter of life, that if our time is up on this world its God's way of saying "Its time to move on". (sorry, religious views...dont mean to offend anyone if I do) There should be no fear in death or dying because everybody goes through it..."By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch" I for one look forward to death and what lies ahead...hopefully eating in-in-out...
What if my life starts to slip away?
And if I’ll see the end of day
Does it all end right here and there
Will I even go anywhere?
Of these details I cannot speak
If death is fearful if not bleak
Is it painful, quiet or sad?
Is it the greatest gift I’ve had?
I don’t know the kiss of death
Or the feeling of an angel’s breath
But I know he is death, none can excel
He may open the door to heaven or hell
If I sense his presence I will pray
“Death please call me another day”
But now I know it’s not death I fear
But the feeling of knowing that it’s near
And as I see my vision dim
I dare not try and look at him
For death is something we all must face
We may as well accept it with some grace
But when I experience death’s great con
I won’t know if I cease or live on
I do not believe that death should be such a feared concept, although I do believe that everyone has an inborn fear of death. I believe that once we die we would stay with our families and the ones we love until a final judgement on all of mankind based on the choices we've made up until that point. I also believe that after we are dead we continue to learn and make our own decisions.
I believe that death is inevitable and everyone needs to accept the fact that they're going to die. It would be unpleasant if we died and that was "THE END". Hopefully, we become reincarnated and our soul goes into some wild jungle animal. It would be nice living life in the perspective of a jaguar.
Imagine walking through the mall as a hippo. How cool would that be?
I think that death is always there and can't be avoided. After death I hope our consciousness is preserved (either by reincarnating or in an afterlife). Realistically I think that after death there is nothingness.
I think if ur nice and do good things in life u will go to heaven but if your bad u will go to he double hockey sticks which is probably no bueno
I think that death is only the beginning. Many people may say that death is the ending of the book because it's basically the end of your life. However, what you do in your life defines where you go after death. Whether it be Heaven, or he-double hockey sticks, that's what continues on for the rest of eternity.
I believe death is just another life, just with less restrictions and more options. I believe that after you die, you're free to do anything you've ever wanted to do. I feel as if your spirit goes into this room with an infinite amount of doors, and you can take whichever door you want. If you lived a life where you made other people sad then maybe you don't get all the same doors as people who lived a good and happy life. So I guess it's kind of a bonus if you had a good life.
Everybodys view on the afterlife or lack of it is different but in my point of view I focus less on the afterlife that I will have, and more on the impact that I will leave on people after I die.
Death is just the start, I think that when you die you go to a higher place and then you are with the rest of the people before you, somewhat like a ghost but with just other people and only be able to see then, not speak to them
Death for me is something difficult. I believe there is a heaven ,but I do always wonder what if there isn't or what if there is and I won't be there. I hate to see a loved one die,but I do understand it is apart of life. What is weird though is that I believe it is harder to have member of the family leave and never come back rather than die . So I guess there are worse things I worry about more than death . Death is just something we can overcome so I try not to be afraid.
