Would you have liked to be a miner during California's gold rush or was the risk to great to take?  If so, which route would you take to get to California?  What would you enjoy the most about that time?  Would it be the adventure of being in a place where there were few rules, being out doors working real hard under the sun, or could it be spendinng some time with a person you would like to get closer to?

I want you to think back to the time when California was a land full of Native American tribes.  You are transported back to that time in a special time traveling machine.  It is mid- day and everyone is working.  Now that you are there, tell me what job would be best suited for you?  Would you be a fisherman working with weirs, a hunter-gatherer, a basket weaver, a canoe maker etc...?  Explain why you would enjoy this job the best.  Remember this is not a place to just chat with your friends.  Answer the question and reply to what your classmates have written.

We have been studying the rock cycle for the last three weeks.  What is your favorite rock and why?  Explain.  Is it because of the way it is formed? Could it be the color of the rock?  How about the rocks texture?  Or is it because the rock may contain a valueable mineral, fossil ect...?  Make sure to write in complete sentences.
