Today was our last visit to the Garden. There were weeds to pull, vegetables to tend to, and even worms had to be feed. This has been a fun and rewarding experience and I hope you felt the same way. Since this is our last garden blog for the year, please blog your thoughts about this experience as well as any suggestions for next year. Do not forget to visit our garden next year and see what may be growing in there.
Oh, if you were one of the lucky ones to get a turnip, please let the class know how you ate it and what it taste like.
Today at the garden we harvested our turnips, took down our snow peas and pulled out weeds. I pulled out the weeds and put grass cuttings besides the asspraragas. YUCK!!! my hands were all yellowish,... greenish,...OH whatever. (it was just discusting!!!) OK now eh OH! The turnips tasted horrible. It tasted very bitter!!! I wish I didn't have to eat it... Also I'm sad that this was the last day to do garden. It was lot's of fun...
I tasted the turnip it was so bitter. My dad doesn't like the awful bitter taste of THE TURNIP! When I deep fried it with soy sauce it tasted much better ecept some of the bitter tast was still on it. But, it is showing up that my mom is liking the turnip with a lot of sauce on it. I don't really know what the sause is but it is very sweet, salty , and a little bitter. I have vowed to myself that I will never ever eat turnip in my whole life. Now my moms going to the fridge
for mor turnip. Now she wants me to eat it!
Today was a hot day... gardening wasn't exactly perfect (in this weather ) Well, it's sad that it's the last day of garden...but I won't miss THAT much, though I'll miss our classmates. It was a fun year, and while I enjoyed bloging, sometimes I was to lazy to blog....I would certainly enjoy it if we went in groups seperated rather than all of us together..I dunno why I felt that way...well... (to lazy to continue...) haha
I have read your comments. After reading it, seems to me the turnips taste very bitter.......hehe! Anyway, today's gardening as a matter a fact a lot more better than other gardening times we had. But the wasp in the garden was really pleasent to have. At least no one got stung!
The box that I digged roots out of were pretty easy to take out. Propably because the roots are soft and no one stepped in that area.
I enjoyed Mrs. Barros(sorry if I speeled it wrong!) learning of the worm's air condition.
Our garden box vegetables and flowers have grown so big. I especially liked the asortive tall flowers.
Gardening was fun! Our garden had many different wildflowers. I was taking out the weeds in the seperated soil. After a few minutes people were spreading the grass cuttings in the garden. It looked gross! People said their hands were yellow after they touched it. I was going to take a turnip but since there were no big ones I didn't take one. It seems to me, after reading some comments, that it is a good thing I did not take one. ( I will miss gardening. )
I can't belive we are not going to garden again. It was fun pulling out weeds and planting plants and pulling out turnips. The small turnips I brought home were good. I am thinking about how the turnips you brought home tasted.
I liked gardening this Wednesday and i was sad since it was the last day of gardening this year a Baldwin Stocker.
I disliked (hated) my radish that I steamed in a rice cooker. It tasted like pepper spray. I only liked it when I dipped it into pepper sauce, wasabi, soy sauce, b.b.q. sauce, and salt mixed together.
